Since rabbits can give birth up to 10 times an year and have a gestation period of 30 days, it is never advisable to have the male (buck) and the female (doe) live together. This gives the doe time between births with the recommended number being 3 times a year. At the same time, a doe can give birth to up to 10 babies at a go. It is therefore advisable to have ample space in time. Your hutch will be very crowded pretty soon as the rabbits multiply right before your eyes.
You will need to keep expanding the housing if you do not set a system in place to get rid of the rabbits often by selling them. The good thing is, there is a huge rabbit meat market in Kenya and the demand will ensure that your rabbit rearing in Kenya venture is profitable.

Feeding the Rabbit
Rabbits
feed on grass, young herbs, agricultural crop residue as well as
kitchen waste. This include green and dry grass, cabbage and banana
leaves and food such as ugali.

Rabbits should be fed two times a day giving more a little more in the evening than you do in the morning. If giving them legumes, 75% of their diet needs should still come from greens.
Rabbit Market in Kenya
Farmers can either slaughter the rabbits themselves and sell in chunks of a kilogram or they can sell to the local butcheries to do the same. Chicken and rabbit meat is being sold these way in kenya in most towns.
Another way to sell the rabbits is to sell them whole. This can be done in wholesale to major supermarkets, restaurants and city markets. Chinese restaurants are especially great places to market the rabbits. It is
